COMICS:  Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase is a vampire love story with a pretty interesting plot.

MUSIC: The Vampire's Revenge jazz album has its good and bad points, but as is always with music, you might have to try it out for yourself.

TV: Nickelodeon releases its Halloween lineup, complete with the standard "Vampires, Werewolves, Ghosts and Zombies."

Dark Shadows hits it's 40th anniversary (from when it began) and is also on DVD.

I've hit my first Halloween link, so now is the perfect time to remind everyone that I will try my hardest not to post Halloween related links (unless they refer to TV, movies, etc. as related to vampires). But I can't sort through all of the townie activities, so if you are interested in Halloween goings-on in your community, please refer to your local news source.

Paul Barber writes in Vampires of Folklore and Fiction problems with the modern vampire.

Jason Mewes of the "Jersey movies" is going to make a vampire flick with Judd Neslon. Snooties! Another site reports that this is going to be a comedy.

The BBC will add a new version of Dracula to their airwaves later this year. Not sure when or if we Americans will see it.

A new game from Mayham Studios entitled Vampire Story is looking for a distributor for a possible late 2006 release.

This doesn't have a lot to do with vampires, but it's kind of interesting. Barbara Fredricksen proposes that we live like vampires in the summer time, due to the excessive heat. I'm okay with that. 

Netherbeast Incorporated, a "funny" and "quirky" vampire tale, is being shot in Arizona.

I am Legend is being shot beginning at the end of September. Not due out for a while, this film will star Will Smith.

NintenDojo features a review on the Castlevania sequel: Portrait of Ruin. Hard to believe it's been around for almost 20 years, huh?

Darkness: The Vampire Version, debuts on DVD, and according to BlogCritics, it's about time.

Fox picks up two dramas about the undead.  Gotta watch! One is unnamed, and the other is called "Amy After Dark." A little more information is also here.

We really need more Halloween songs. "Vampire Love" is a new single that will be released this fall.

Elton misses the vampire musical, and says critics were "making it up." The bad stuff, that is.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will be released on X-Box live early next year.

Vampire musical, The Sundowe, does well at a talent contest. See? Not all vamp musicals suck.

If you have X-Box 360 and the Live features, you can now get the vampire add-ons for Oblivion.

When sequels just won't work, try a prequel! Like maybe Dracula before he was Dracula. Excuse me while I groan.

Real Vampires by Inanna Arthen - I'm not sure how I stumbled upon this, but it's an interesting read.

Like jazz? Of course you do. Dom Minasi's latest album was inspired by Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

Preview of Nintendo DS's upcoming Lunar Knights: Vampire Hunters. One more reason for me to get the DS. Can someone please tell my husband this is a necessity?

I am Legend is getting a lot of mixed pre-reviews, even before the movie is filmed. Why the crap? It might have to do with Johnny Depp, adding to previous news that he was joining Will Smith in the highly anticipated film.

The WB will go off the air with their best shows running, including Buffy and Angel.

It's hard to kill your own kind. A review of Blade, the series. And according to the NY Times, you don't really have to have seen the movies to get the series.

Monster Madness, by SouthPeak Interactive, will be a hack-'em, slash-'em monster killing game for the X-box 360, and Playstation 3, due next February.

British vamp movie, High Stakes, aiming for a November release. Unsure if we'll get it in the states. IN addition, Fangoria has some pictures from the movie.

Ooh, a post-apocolypic horror western! My favorite! lol  Priest will star Phantom of the Opera's Gerard Butler, and is based on a Tokyo Pop graphic novel.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has vampires! Who knew?

While I don't usually put reviews of vampire books on here (that would take pages!) I like interviews; I think they're a good way to see how the vamp culture is played out. Like here, with Laurell K. Hamilton.

Sony is considering Josh Hartnett (a Minnesota native, for all my pals out there) for 30 Days of Night, a vamp thriller based on the graphic novel.

Lit professor at Campbell University finds literary meaning in Buffy, which she presented at the annual Slayage Conference.

The Vampire Slayer Act of 2006 (mentioned previously) was approved by the California Assembly. Good- make The Man work harder!

The Russian blockbuster Nightwatch finally comes to the US on DVD, available June 20th.

Whedon confirms that Buffy/Angel movies are not going to happen.

Vampire Sighting! Vampires on the Berkley campus. Is anyone really surprised at this?

Underworld: Evolution is now on DVD. Ah ha! The circle is now complete. I remember reporting on this movie from its conception. How old is this blog anyway?

Vampire appliances caused California lawmakers to draw up this- don't laugh, this is true - the Vampire Slayer Act of 2006. Stand down, you evil vampire toaster!

The city of Johannesburg welcomes back Fangs, a comedy rock-musical from the 70's.

Darkness: The Vampire Version (a small-budget horror/sci-fi flik) is on DVD, and may be worth looking at.

Vampire Wars: Battle for the Universe is also coming out on DVD, but doesn't have great reviews.

IFC says Bloodrayne really isn't all that bad.

Former owners of Dracula's castle have it returned by Romania.

Vampire Loves, a French graphic novel, is translated in English, collecting the first four volumes of the popular comic.

Blade the series starts on Spike TV on June 28, staring Kirk Jones. You can see a picture on CableWorld.

Dracula themed tours offered by Continental Journeys shows off the castle and more. The prices aren't so bad, either.

Konami's ever popular Castlevania series returns to Nintendo DS in November, with the release of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin for the handheld.

The vampires have blocked out the sun and it's your job to get of them and return things to normal in Game Boy Advance's Lunar Knights.

I have nothing against Alyssa Milano, or vampire porn... but when you're in between acting jobs, and you need some money in your pocket, maybe Embrace of the Vampire (new on DVD) isn't the way to go.

Trinity Blood, the latest in vampire anime, is releasing its first four episodes on DVD as sort of a "prequel" to the series, if that makes any sense. Considering the reviews aren't that great, they're probably just looking for ways to lose money. I mean, that's the fun part, right?

Blade, the television series looks to start on June 28th. I hope the summer start doesn't turn fans off.

Lestat: The Musical isn't doing much better out of San Francisco and on Broadway. Sucks to be them. Even so, Elton John and Anne Rice look pretty happy to be there anyway.

Vampire Sighting! Puerto Rican Chupacabra vampire seen in Russia. Big deal. I saw the Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri-Lanka the other day*.

You boys will like this. Blade, the television series has made a teaser site for the new show. As for me, I'm not a breast fan... Unless it's a chicken.

Teenage vampire love novel lassos kids in with this modern tale of adolescent hormones. Actually, I might pick this up.

Castlevania is being revived (which you'd know, if you read the blog entries) but alas, we have learned it's only for Nintendo DS.  Is there hope for the rest of us?

Another vampire blog site (which, FYI isn't so much a blog, as it is MySpace for vampire wannabes) is getting lots of press lately. How come? Murder! Yes, murther!

Spoof News! Though still, highly believable. Condoleeza Rice to be in a vampire movie!

Art imitates other art, and such is true (sadly) with a Brokeback vampire movie. No, I'm not joking.

The British bring Vampire Rock to Lancashire with hits by AC/DC, Guns N Roses and Queen.

Southern Vampires (the book series) is coming to HBO as a series in 2007.

Completion films acquired the rights to Razorwire, "an urban horror movie" where vampire cops feed on the ghetto poor.

New PC game by Lengendo Entertainment, Dracula Twins, is planned for release this spring.

I knew it wouldn't be long before I mentioed a game that can be played on a cell phone. *sigh*  Adventure/ puzzle game Mystery Castle II features Monty, a little wizard who has to defeat Fang, a vampire with serious issues.

Vampire music gets jazzy with Dom Minasi's album, The Vampire's Revenge.

Blood: The Last Vampire is currently in New York, soon to be at Indi theaters in the rest of the country (hopefully). About.com fills us in with a review of the English re-dub.

Sci Fi channel acquires some favorites, including vampire series Buffy TVS and Angel.

Hamilton's Anita Blake Vampire Hunter moves from novels to comic books. Yea comics!

Immortally Yours, a vampire drama being filmed in Dayton, OH (they report everything) is about a vampire yearning to be mortal again after falling in love. Awww....

Watch for the vampire flick, Dead Serious, playing in various theaters. It's not well known, but has won various awards.

Another series we'll probably never see (sadly), is a series in Canada based on Tanya Huff's novels, Blood Ties.

UW-Madison is offering a new class: The Vampire in Literature and Film. Way to go UW, M!

I still hate the WB. They're always eager for new projects (like the Spike movie)... but they'll never keep anything good around for long.

Russian vamp movie scores with audiences. It also seems to be boosting their economy, which is always nice.

A poll tied in with Underworld shows that people would rather be vampires than werewolves. Well, duh!

And now...only January 12 and I'm saying I've seen it all already. First time this year though. Vampire for a governor! Of where? Where else?
